For my explanation page on my first personal blog, I thought that “Absolute Beginners” would be an appropriate theme. Many of us tend to stay within our comfort zones and like being masters of the domains we excel at, but I find that we often learn much more when we expand our perspective and try things that are challenging.
While I’ve been a frequent blog commenter for several years, I have never harnessed my innate desire to share a creative expression of who I am. To that end, that is my aim: to share the positive energy that I endeavor to offer to this world.

David Bowie – “Absolute Beginners”
This is extremely neat.
Thanks! I have a lot of ideas for blog posts that I’ll be exploring here.
Greetings ‘Salome’….I noticed your blog address posted on Crasstalk. I have not been able to take the proper amount of time to truly absorb all your writing and commentary, but I look forward to doing so soon!
At this moment, I just want to tell you how touching, evocative, thought provoking and utterly fabulous I find your writing!
We are almost the same age, and I relate to so much of what you’ve written about…older men, other women, tongue marks on the carpet, existential angst and boundless curiosity!
Bless you for taking the plunge here. You may call yourself an ‘absolute beginner’ (btw, love your taste in music…I saw Kansas back in the day…awesome!), but you clearly have found an outlet for a very special innate talent.
I hope your U.S. neighbors welcome you with open arms…you are a treasure! (Come to the Northeast!!)

Thanks so very much for the supremely kind words of encouragement!
I actually just came here to post some of my “lost” writing that I just found. I am deeply moved to know that my experiences resonate so thoroughly with you. (Not surprised at all, given your screen name and comments.)
Should you ever wish to discourse further, drop me a note at salomevalentine at gmail.com
Mwah! (Hugs, too.)
Greetings, Salome!
I look forward to reading more…so glad you found your writings.
I’ll definitely be in touch, as I would love to hear more of your thoughts on so many of these topics. My screen name is from a Frank Zappa song, but it’s pretty apropos these days (in the midst of a mid-life crisis…lol!)
hugs and mwah! to you, too!
SV!,
I wanted to touch base with you and let you know how much I enjoy reading what you write on Crasstalk and elsewhere. I have discovered I am really not cut out for the commenting world. I sort of follow the rule that anything I do for fun should be positive experiences and as great as most of my interactions were on CT, the reality is the bad moments resonated with me and made me uncomfortable.
Please, should anyone ever care what happened to me, I will check back in to see what my favorites (Cracked Pot, Miss Aligned, P-Mouse, AntiNickname, Gooch, Madfall, Momo3WK, Waspy, just to name a few) are up to and read some of the great articles. As Lala so eloquently put it last night, I should probably Lurk more and that is really where I am comfortable.
You are wonderful and I love the CT experiment and I am sorry I am such a wuss.
Keep in touch via email if you care to and come back to Mexico soon.

To show you how long it’s been snce I checked this blog, I just saw this message now!
